This set includes four stoneware cereal bowls. Each bowl is made from high-fired stoneware clay, fired at 1200°C (2192°F) to achieve durability. The glaze is a reactive speckled glaze in a cream base with dark brown and grey speckles. The speckling occurs naturally during firing due to mineral content in the glaze; the distribution varies slightly between bowls. Each bowl measures 6 inches (15.2 cm) in diameter at the rim and 2.8 inches (7.1 cm) in height. The capacity is approximately 20 fluid ounces (591 ml) when filled to the brim, but a standard cereal serving is comfortably held at 12–14 oz (355–414 ml). The interior is fully glazed, while the exterior is partially glazed, leaving an unglazed ring at the base for stacking stability. The foot ring has a diameter of 2.5 inches (6.4 cm) and is sanded smooth to prevent scratching tabletops. The bowls are microwave safe, as the stoneware does not contain metallic components. They are also dishwasher safe; however, the manufacturer recommends using the top rack to reduce the risk of chipping from other dishes. The glaze is food-safe and lead-free, certified according to FDA standards. The bowls are not oven safe because sudden temperature changes may cause cracking; they are intended for serving warm or cold foods, not for baking or broiling. The surface is resistant to cuts from metal utensils, but deep scratches may occur over many years of heavy use. The set weighs 4.2 lbs (1.9 kg) total. These bowls are suitable for cereals, soups, pasta, rice bowls, or snacks. The speckled pattern hides minor utensil marks well. Cleaning: use mild detergent and a soft sponge. Avoid abrasive powders that may dull the glaze. The bowls come nested in a cardboard box with paper padding. No assembly required. Due to the handmade nature of the glaze application, no two bowls are identical, and small glaze drips or pinholes may be present; these are considered normal variations and do not affect function. The product is not intended for children under 3 years due to breakable material.
