Description
This set of four dessert plates features hand-painted floral motifs and a gold rim accent. Each plate is made from fine bone china (45% bone ash) fired at 1250°C (2282°F). The body is translucent when held up to light. The plate dimensions: diameter 7.5 inches (19 cm), height 0.7 inches (1.8 cm). The rim is trimmed with genuine gold (12 karat) paint applied by hand and fired onto the glaze. The gold is not dishwasher safe; hand washing is required. The center of each plate has a hand-painted floral design — a small cluster of roses and leaves in pink, green, and yellow. Because each plate is hand-painted, the exact placement and brushstroke thickness vary; no two plates are identical. The background is white with a glossy glaze. The plates are intended for serving cake, pastries, appetizers, or as side plates for bread. They are not microwave safe due to the gold content. The gold rim may wear over time with frequent handling; expect a lifespan of approximately 500 hand washes before visible thinning. The plates are not oven safe. The bone china is more chip-resistant than porcelain but still fragile; avoid stacking heavy items on top. The set total weight is 2.4 lbs (1.09 kg). The plates are food-safe; the gold is sealed under a glaze layer (except on the rim where it is on the surface). Cleaning: hand wash only with mild soap, warm water, and a soft sponge. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scrub the gold rim vigorously. Do not soak the plates for extended periods. After washing, dry immediately with a soft cloth to prevent water spots on the gold. The plates should not be used in microwave or dishwasher; the gold will arc in a microwave and discolor in a dishwasher. The product is packaged in a partitioned gift box with foam padding. No assembly required. Because of the hand-painted nature, some plates may have minor paint smudges or missing dots; these are considered within acceptable variation. The gold rim is not suitable for use with acidic foods left in contact for long periods (e.g., lemon juice for hours), as acid can slowly erode the gold layer. These plates are best used for short-term serving, not for food storage.
